Ride For Youth

A Youth Focus event for the prevention of youth suicide and depression

Occupation: Electrical Lecturer

This is the first time that I have taken on this challenge as a rider with the RFY group. I have known many of these people for a great number of years and I am just so overwhelmed by their dedication, disipline and above all generosity.

Such and inspiring group of people. This is certainly going to be one of the biggest physical challenges that I have taken on in recent years.

The hours I will need to spend training to be fit enough to complete this ride has finally hit me, the hills I will have to climb, both physically and psychologically are daunting.

In the scheme of things it is insignificant to the hurdles that many of our youth have to climb daily.  Demons that play in their heads, taunting them and constantly distracting them from moving forward in their lives to be happy and complete people.

It is for these young people that I will gladly push my own limits if it will help any one of them.

To see and hear the good stories that come out of the RFY and the Youth Focus councellors regarding the youth that have beaten their inner demons is truelly rewarding.

I will find great personal reward in completing this ride but an even greater reward in knowing that every cent of your donations is going to such a great cause.

Thank you for supporting me, but mostly thank you for supporting OUR YOUTH
