Occupation: Engineer & Independent Corporate Advisor
2017 will be my first Hawaiian Ride for Youth and along with over 140 other cyclists and support crews, we are one team with one goal - to raise funds for Youth Focus, an independent not for profit organisation which supports vulnerable young people in Western Australia by offering a range of early intervention and prevention services free of charge. These services are aimed at supporting young people and their families to overcome the issues associated with suicide, depression and self-harm.
The ride is held annually over 4.5 days, with pelotons travelling from Albany or Geraldton to Perth, covering over 700kms. While cycling through towns riders visit high schools to engage and inform students on issues of youth suicide, depression and self-harm, and the services that Youth Focus provides. Riders and sponsors are responsible for the costs of the ride and Youth Focus receives every dollar donated.
I’d be grateful if you would support our efforts to help Youth Focus, by making a tax-deductible donation to support our fundraising. All contributions will be gratefully received and will help save lives.
