Ride For Youth

A Youth Focus event for the prevention of youth suicide and depression

CEO Challenge

Vanessa Guthrie

Occupation: CEO

This year, in an effort to leap-my-own-tall-buildings-in-a-single-bound, I have decided to join the ranks of the lycra mob and ride in the Youth Focus “Hawaiian Ride for Youth” CEO Challenge from Mandurah to Perth on 25th March.  Given that my whole-of-life riding experience is about 3 months, it is a more than just a CEO challenge for me!

Mine is a small 80 km contribution to the overall ride – which this year sees some 240 riders make their way some 600 km and 5 days of riding from either Albany or Geraldton to Perth.  Our objective is to raise funds to support Youth Focus in the prevention of youth suicide and self harm.  Along the way, the riders visit many regional schools to share the message with our young people – you are not alone, reach out and talk to someone.

I would really appreciate your support to help Youth Focus – knowing that others are backing me will spur me on to train harder and give more.  You can donate via the below link.

Vanessa, I love your courage in embarking on this great adventure. You are a real pin-up girl for me in undertaking the ride with no previous experience. I will be looking out for the poster! Thanks also for hosting such a great cocktail party, and to raising funds for Youth Focus which deals with such importantant and critical issues for us all. Denise and Garry
